Delayed Start Up Announced

KPR, which plans to re-enter Dirt Late Model Racing this season under Kevin Patrick ownership, will delay the team’s startup until the end of June. This means we will not be able to make the Show-Me 100. We are disappointed with this as we had a top notch driver (Leslie Essary) lined up for the race. The team has almost completed the primary car which is still at Bill Frye’s shop. It will come out ready for the track with the Kuntz 442 ford engine.
We did not want to come out without a car and team that is not capable of performing at top level, in the Dirt Late Model Showground. Our expectations for this season, Kevin said he hopes to contend with at least the other new DLM teams and battle with two or three of the more established teams. The primary car is predicted to be ready in the second week of June, and the second car by fall racing, he said. “You have to be realistic ... Short term we have a huge challenge in front of us to produce a car for the first race," he said. "The start of our season will be pretty difficult... but we certainly don't intend that the KPR DLM team will be the team in the back."
KPR has been out of Dirt Late model Racing since 2008. The team is operating with a startup capital directly from Kevin Patrick. And hopes to have additional race funding, by a partnership between the sponsorship group, and investor’s, kevin is still actively creating.

Welcome

....Welcome to the Kevin Patrick Racing (KPR) Web Site.  KPR has grown at a very good pace. Adding a piece at a time, the company has built a small fleet of Dirt Late Model Race Cars, as well as, an equally impressive Motor Program. The KPR shop is putting in place all of the equipment it could possibly need to produce the highest quality race cars that not only qualify well, but can win in SMRS, UMP, MARS, MLRA, and Summer Nationals Race Divisions. KPR has outstanding and long term relationships with high quality race teams. KPR knows how to be properly prepared at all levels to win in Dirt Late Model races while also meeting the personal and business needs of the individuals and companies funding the race effort. KPR offers up a wealth of experience, performance, and professionalism to sponsors, investors, and its customers.
We are a Professional Dirt Late Model Race Team. Our race program and shop is centered in Gentry, Arkansas. We plan to contend against some of the best drivers around and travel across the Mid-West Region picking the highest paying races “A True Outlaw Schedule”. KPR, is committed to the 2010 season, we are building two teams, with a motor program that inventories no less than three motors. The team will also have one back up chassis’s at the shop ready for use if needed in 2010. "The reality is we ran in the top 20 in points in previous years with both KPR race teams and we feel it could have been better, changes are going to be made". KPR is one of many small Dirt Late Model teams being squeezed during this economic crisis. Sponsorship is extremely difficult to find, and operating costs in a Dirt Late Model Program are at an all-time high. Without outside funding or a merger with another team KPR may have to limit their racing footprint to the Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri area. The team has no current sponsorship for next season. But a merger with another small Late Model Team is still being considered and may be the most logical step at this time.
